Bawiti is the capital of Baharia Oasis that occupies a hillside. The oasis is famous for their 398 mineral and sulphur springs, you can enjoy the hilltop ruin 'the English House', the Temple of Alexander and the Golden Valley of Mummies. On the eastern ridge of El Bawiti in the Bahariya Oasis we find the Tomb of Bannantiu next to his father's tomb. Bannantiu was probably either a trader or wealthy land owner, judging by his elaborate and large tomb.
